Jon Richards is an author, journalist, actor, and cartoonist. His latest novel, Nick & Jake (http://www.amazon.com/Nick-Jake-An-Epistolary-Novel/dp/1611457238), written with brother Tad Richards, is a satirical novel set in 1953 that mixes characters from fiction and history. An audio drama version is available through the Nick & Jake website starring Alan Arkin as Jake Barnes (of The Sun Also Rises) Tom Conti as Nick Carraway (of The Great Gatsby), and Ali MacGraw as Christine Jorgensen, the transsexual pioneer.

Other novels include the three-volume Whitmarsh Chronicles, a generational saga set against the background of the American labor movement; Cherokee Bill and Tularosa, both historical fiction with Western settings; and Santa Fe, a contemporary novel of greed and growth in the stylish capital of New Mexico.  He has done book illustrations (Cosmo). His political cartoons are seen regularly on the Huffington Post, and in the Albuquerque Journal North.  His movie reviews appear weekly in the Santa Fe New Mexican.  He is a member of the Online Film Critics Society. He has appeared on the Santa Fe stage in leading roles in many plays.  Film work includes Alan Arkin’s short film Blood: Thinner than Water, and the narration of Terry Sanders’s Oscar-nominated short Never Give Up: the 20th Century Odyssey of  Herbert Zipper.  He has worked in film dubbing as writer, actor, director, and editor in New York and Paris on such films as Elvira Madigan and Z, and has subtitled the films of such directors as Eric Rohmer, Costa-Gavras, Jacques Rivette, Barbet Shroeder, and Jean Eustache. 

He lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico with his wife Claudia Jessup, who writes nonfiction in her own name and fiction as Meredith Rich.  His daughters India and Alex are writers.
